Moving from your Head to your Heart

Each and every one of us plans our life before we are born. This is called our Soul Contract.

Our Souls plan every aspect of our lives: our parents and siblings; when we are born; where we live; where we go to school; the friends we make; who we marry; and even the challenges we face. We plan our lives with the help of our guides, guardian angels and the Souls of everyone who will be present in the life we are planning. We are able to align with our Soul Contract by simply being who we really are but certain challenges may block us. These challenges are designed for a number of reasons, one such reason being to help us learn or experience something about ourselves. These challenges are usually traumatic. Trauma can either be a parent not paying you enough attention and instead plying you with money and gifts. Or it can be a terrifying event that leaves lasting emotional pain. This trauma blocks the connection to our emotions, and may shift us off the course of aligning to our Soul Contract.

So for example, when I was planning my life before I incarnated (that is, before I was born); my Soul and the Soul of my parents, my partners, my children, and even my siblings planned that we were going to live in Lusaka, Zambia. We planned that we were going to bring to ourselves circumstances that were going to allow us to learn about an aspect of ourselves or overcome an issue that we have in our Soul memory that needs to be healed. Fear could be a Soul memory that needs to be healed. I would have then planned circumstances in my life plan that will allow me to experience and then free myself from that fear.

The Soul plan or contract is not cast in stone. All possibilities that could happen are discussed and planned for because when we are on Earth, as human beings, we have the freedom and ability to choose whichever course we like. These choices are brought about by how we react or respond to what life throws at us. This depends on our physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. The life plan can be reviewed several times during a lifetime and new plans are made because the Soul is in constant touch with the guides, guardian angels and even those Souls it has incarnated with. These new plans, and indeed the original plan if it does not change, are communicated to the Personality by the Soul through our emotions (feelings) and intuition (that voice in our head that guides us). Trauma is most likely going to affect our emotional wellbeing, so there might be a disconnect between the Soul and the Personality, causing misalignment to the Soul Contract. The emotional body must be kept as healthy as possible for us to align with our Soul Contracts.

As a certified Essential Archetypes Mentor, a lot of the work I do is to help the Personality listen to its emotional body. The Personality we incarnate into is what we see in the mirror: skin colour; hair texture and colour; body type; and choice of clothes. The emotional and mental bodies are part of the Personality. The emotional body is what we feel and the mental body is what we think. The Soul will communicate the Soul Contract to the emotional body. The emotional body will communicate this to the mental body. The thoughts or mindfulness created by the mental body will be used by the individual/the physical body to take what the Soul wants out into the world.

As you can see, keeping the emotional body healthy and heard is important. We don’t want to rely only on the mental body to guide us. The mental body can pick up thoughts that are not from the Soul but from other people and the environment. Judgements about ourselves, beliefs such as ‘I’m not good enough’ and other negative thoughts all come from the mental body/mind and will only take us off the course of our Soul contracts (unless they are beliefs and judgements one has come to heal). This is why the trauma, which may cause damage to the emotional body, must be healed. If something traumatic happens to you; it is so painful, that you will block the emotions so as not to relive the pain. The mental body will take over. The trauma will manifest itself in addictions, depression, anxiety or other symptoms. To heal this depression, anxiety or addictions, the emotional body must be listened to. The Soul will then bring about circumstances that will cause you to resolve that trauma and therefore the anxiety, depression or addiction. Resolving that trauma will involve an individual getting in touch with and dealing with the pain or the emotions that resulted from the trauma. The individual begins to rely on their emotions to align to the Soul Contract and not their thoughts, and therefore moves from the head to the heart. The Soul is said to reside in a person’s heart.
